The First Presbyterian Church of Dallas Foundation is a classic example of Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed: “The mustard seed ... is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree.” (Matthew 13:31-32)

Founded in l958 by a group of visionary First Presbyterian Church members, the Foundation began as a dream in the minds of a few. Many early donations were $2 or $3, and the Trustees were delighted to receive any amount. Thanks to gifts and bequests from many generous people, and prudent management of the assets, the Foundation now has an endowment of over $l6,000,000. Consequently it is able to help support the programs of First Presbyterian Church, and Presbyterian-related causes locally and globally.

In 2006 the Foundation assisted with support for the Church during its sesquicentennial celebration, including the publication of a history book depicting the l50 year history of the church grants from the Foundation also assisted seminarians with their financial needs. For a number of years the Foundation has covered the entire cost of the Stewpot’s Venturing Crew Scouting program for teenagers.

Grant support was also given to Grace Presbyterian Village for the Caring Fund as well as renovations; Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary toward the construction of student housing to be named in honor of John and Nancy Anderson; Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services for the children they serve; the Presbyterian Camp Gilmont for building improvements, and the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas Developmental Day School among many others. Grants distributed in 2007 totaled $286,000.

Please join us in the significant work of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas Foundation. Gifts to the foundation can come in many forms, from outright gifts made during the lifetime of the donor to gifts made through a will or trust.

Contributions may be made at any time and for any amount. Memorials gifts or gifts to honor someone on a birthday or other special occasion are always welcome, and will be acknowledged. If you would like a form to use with your donations, please click here.

Your contribution will be another “mustard seed” and will grow in perpetuity.
